Wind energy is chosen as one of the most important clean energy sources for today's world. It hardly generates any emissions during its operational time. Most of the emissions on wind technologies are associated with its different material manufacturing, transportation, installation. To calculate these emissions, LCA is used to find out the environmental impact of wind farms from the same wind class. The main aim of this paper is to compare the environmental impact/benefit of different wind turbine-generator sets used in the wind farm using cradle-tograve method by Life Cycle Assessment tool. For this, two different types of turbine-generator-based wind farms are chosen from Karnataka, India, and a comparison has been done by considering whole life cycles of them. Then, the sensitivity analysis is carried out to find out the affect of wind speed on LCA methodology. The result highlighted that both the mentioned turbine-generator-based wind farms are suitable for wind power technologies, but Asynchronous generator-turbine based wind farm emits comparatively low emission as compared to respective size and its required less energy return time.
