What is The Rattrap: A Tale of Temptation about?

The passage describes a vagrant man who makes a living selling small wire mouse traps. He steals 30 kronor from an old man after staying at his home one night. Lost in the woods, he is about to give up when he hears the sounds of a nearby iron mill and makes his way there for shelter, where the owner mistakes him for an old friend and invites him home for Christmas, but the man refuses out of fear of being found out.
