What is Whole Genome Sequencing Process about?

In whole genome sequencing, DNA fragments are attached to a flow cell and copied thousands of times to form clusters. Modified DNA bases with attached colors are added one by one to the fragments by polymerases, and the sequencer takes a snapshot of each color added to determine the base. This occurs simultaneously across the flow cell to generate multiple reads of each fragment. The single reads are then assembled and analyzed to sequence the genome.
