This study examined wound infections secondary to snakebites in northern KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The researchers conducted a prospective audit at Ngwelezane Hospital over 4 months. They analyzed medical records of 164 patients admitted for snakebites, of which 57 required surgical wound debridement.
