What is Děčínský Sněžník: Czech Peak History about?
Děčínský Sněžník is the highest peak in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains at 722.8 m above sea level, located in the Czech Republic near the German border. In the 1860s, a Neo-Gothic observation tower was built on the summit to be used by geodesists for triangulation. The tower attracted many visitors and a small hostelry was also built. After falling into disrepair in the 1980s, the tower was renovated in 1992 and reopened to the public, once again becoming a popular tourist destination offering panoramic views
