The study compared the effectiveness and safety of cefazolin versus cloxacillin for treating infective endocarditis caused by methicillin-susceptible Staphylococci. Retrospectively, 192 patients from 6 French hospitals treated with cefazolin or cloxacillin for at least 10 days were analyzed. The primary outcome of treatment failure, defined as death, embolic events, or relapse within 90 days, showed no significant differences between the antibiotic groups.
