Center and RCA Dome served as headquarters. There were over 2.100 registrants from over 40 countries, and 440 papers and posters were presented. The program featured speakers from around the world, allowing an opportunity for international interaction among professionals working in all areas of the fats and oils industry. Three days of technical sessions were included in this meeting. Technical sessions were held in the following areas: Techniques for Lipid Analysis, Frying Fats, Plant Lipid Biochemistry, Conjugated Linolenic Acid, Antioxidant Methodology, Phospholipids in Aquaculture, Oleochemicals, Processing, Protein and Co-Products, and Surfactants and Detergents. Exhibitor sessions were also presented. These sessions provided an opportunity for attendees to hear lectures of a scientific, technological or commercial nature from exhibiting companies. Twenty-one papers were presented in sessions covering the areas of Fats and Oils Processing/Refining Equipment, Processing Chemicals/Additives/ Ingredients, Analytical Techniques/Instrumentation and Surfactants/Detergents/Soaps/Oleochemicals.
