What is Boredom about?
This study investigates the relationship between state and trait boredom and job outcomes such as satisfaction, absenteeism, and tenure among 292 manufacturing workers. Results indicate that individuals with high levels of both state and trait boredom report significantly lower job satisfaction and higher absenteeism, as well as longer organizational tenure. The findings suggest implications for job design and personnel selection to mitigate boredom and improve job satisfaction.
