What is KIST: Enhancing Tor about?

This paper addresses network performance issues in Tor, particularly congestion at individual relays and along end-to-end paths, primarily occurring in egress kernel socket buffers. The authors propose KIST, a new socket management algorithm that utilizes real-time kernel information to optimize data writing to sockets, resulting in significant reductions in circuit congestion, network latency, and improvements in throughput. The study also evaluates KIST
