What is Victoria about?

The salience of sociocultural norms for ideal appearance leads women to base their self-worth more strongly on appearance, authors say. Females who received an intervention challenging the legitimacy of the sociocultural norm were less accepting of the norms. Norms convey message that women are valued for their bodies and that standards for attractiveness are very high.
