Barangay 10 San Miguel was originally settled in the beginning by many people along the Padsan River in Sarrat, formerly the municipality of San Miguel. They lived in the southern part because of the fertile land and cultivated various crops, including malunggay which grew well in the area. In 1855 it became Barrio 10, San Nicolas and was later renamed Barangay 10 San Miguel in 1995 to avoid identity and location issues with the adjacent municipality of San Nicolas.
