This research identifies Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in clinical samples from hospitals in Jambi City using cefoxitin disc diffusion test and duplex PCR. Out of 76 samples, 41.67% were identified as cefoxitin-resistant, with the MecA gene detected in 100% of these cases. The study highlights the importance of rapid and sensitive methods for MRSA identification to address increasing resistance rates.
