1) Alfred North Whitehead was born in 1861 in Ramsgate, Kent, England. He attended Sherborne School, a prestigious public school, and excelled in sports and mathematics. 2) Whitehead studied mathematics at Trinity College, Cambridge, graduating in 1884.
