What is The Story of Noah about?

The biblical story tells that God decided to end humanity due to its wickedness and sent a universal flood. However, he found Noah, a righteous man, and instructed him to build an ark to save himself along with his family and pairs of animals. Once in the ark, it rained for 40 days until the waters receded, allowing Noah and the animals to disembark. God then promised not to destroy the Earth with a flood again and established the rainbow.
