Synovial joints, also known as diarthrodial joints, are the most evolved and freely movable joints characterized by a joint cavity filled with synovial fluid. They can be classified based on the shape of their articular surfaces into several types, including hinge, ball-and-socket, and pivot joints, each allowing different ranges of movement.
