Siemens has been selected to supply compression and power generation equipment for the Balikpapan Refinery expansion project in Indonesia. The equipment includes 17 reciprocating compressors, a hot gas expander, 4 SGT-800 gas turbines, and 5 SST-600 steam turbines. This equipment will enable the refinery to increase output from 240,000 to 360,000 barrels per day and produce higher quality fuels meeting Euro V standards when the expansion is completed in 2022.
