This study examines the relationship between plant diversity and productivity in temperate forests of Central Europe. The authors compiled data from nearly 200 forest plots across the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, and Russia. For each plot, they recorded the number of herb layer species (plant diversity) and the dry biomass weight of the herb layer (productivity).
