Lethrinus lentjan, commonly known as the yellowtail emperor, is a species of fish in the family Lethrinidae. It is found in coral reefs in the western Pacific Ocean. The fish has a fusiform body covered in ganoid scales. It has 17 dorsal spines, 9 dorsal soft rays, 12-15 pectoral rays, 5 anal spines, and 12-15 anal soft rays. The pectoral fins are pointed and the tail is forked. Coloration is yellowish with gray scale linings. Total length reaches 30 cm.
