About this document

Oncogenic Viruses and Cancer Development by joshua rhema is a document available to read on EtoBox.

Oncogenic viruses can transform normal cells into cancer cells through the expression of viral oncogenes, leading to the integration of viral genes into the host genome. Approximately one in six human cancers is linked to human tumor viruses, including DNA viruses like Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) and human papillomavirus (HPV), and RNA viruses like hepatitis C virus (HCV). These viruses can disrupt normal cellular functions, leading to tumorigenicity and cancer development.
