Can I read The ultra-violet convergence of the electromagnetic correction to the ground state energy of hydrogen on EtoBox?
The ultra-violet convergence of the electromagnetic correction to the ground state energy of hydrogen by Hoffman, Herbert S., is a nonfiction available to read on EtoBox.
What is The ultra-violet convergence of the electromagnetic correction to the ground state energy of hydrogen about?
It is shown that in the non-relativistic case, the ultraviolet divergence in the integrals for the electromagnetic shift of energy of the bound states of hydrogen is due to the neglect of the retardation in computing the matrix elements of the electromagnetic interaction p.A. When the exact matrix elements are used, there is no ultraviolet divergence. For the case of the shift of the ground state, the contributions to the shift from the two closest levels are computed and shown to be very small. (Author)
