An AWP shot to the upper body or head will instantly kill an opponent, even with armor. A shot to the legs will deal around 80 damage. As an AWP is heavy, movement speed is reduced while wielding it - running speed is 20% slower and scoped movement speed is 40% slower. While scoped, the crosshair will also blur, making shots harder to land. The AWP is powerful but expensive at $4750, and only rewards $100 per kill. Playing aggressively at the start of rounds can secure early frags for a numerical advantage.
