Magnetic Properties of Chiral Carbon Toroids by M.F Lin is a Physics and Astronomy article available to read on EtoBox.

What is Magnetic Properties of Chiral Carbon Toroids about?

Magnetic properties of chiral carbon toroids directly re#ect the characteristics of the -electron states. They are mainly determined by the toroid structures (such as chiral angle, height, and radius), the magnetic #ux, and the Zeeman e!ect. All zigzag carbon toroids are paramagnetic, while most of armchair carbon toroids are diamagnetic. The other chiral carbon toroids are paramagnetic or diamagnetic, which depends on chiral angle, height, and radius. At high magnetic "elds, the Zeeman e!ect strongly a!ects the low-energy electronic structures, and thereby a!ecting the magnetic properties. Such an e!ect causes certain chiral carbon toroids to exhibit semiconductor}metal transitions. Persistent currents have special jump structures, and magnetism might drastically change from diamagnetism into paramagnetism.
