What is MDM Cooking Cost Enhancement 2014-15 about?

The Government of Andhra Pradesh issued an order to enhance the cooking cost for providing mid-day meals in primary, upper primary, and high schools. The Ministry of HRD had increased the cooking cost for primary and upper primary schools by 7.5% to Rs. 4.60 and Rs. 6.38 respectively. The state government will additionally contribute Rs. 1 per child for eggs or bananas. The cooking cost for classes 9-10 was also increased to Rs. 6.38 with full funding by the state. The finance department approved the order.
