About this document

Capacitor Basics and Types Explained by Muhamad Lasim is a document available to read on EtoBox.

Capacitors are passive components that can store electrical energy on their plates in the form of an electrostatic field called capacitance. A capacitor consists of two conducting plates separated by an insulating material called a dielectric. The amount of charge stored is proportional to the applied voltage. Capacitors can block DC voltages and provide opposition to changing AC signals. They are used in circuits for blocking DC, coupling amplifiers, filtering, and charge storage.
