This study evaluated the antidiarrheal effects of the ethanolic fruit extract of Psidium guajava in rats with castor oil-induced diarrhea. Rats were orally administered 200, 400 or 600 mg/kg of the P. guajava extract or loperamide (positive control). The extract significantly reduced defecation frequency in a dose-dependent manner, comparable to loperamide.
