The joint circular clarifies that the 105-Day Expanded Maternity Leave Law took effect on March 11, 2019, despite the implementing rules and regulations being published later on May 1, 2019. The law was enacted on February 21, 2019 and published on February 23, 2019, so it took effect 15 days later on March 11, 2019. Women who gave live childbirth, suffered miscarriage or emergency termination of pregnancy on or after March 11, 2019 are eligible for benefits under the 105-day leave.
