About this document

Siding (Rail) - Wikipedia, The Free Encyclopedia by saospie is a document available to read on EtoBox.

A siding is a low-speed track section distinct from main lines used for marshalling, stabling, storing, loading and unloading vehicles. Common sidings store stationary rolling stock, especially for loading and unloading. Passing sidings allow trains travelling in opposite directions to pass and for faster trains to overtake slower trains.
