What is Politics in Architectural Discourse about?

This document discusses the politics of self-reference in architectural discourse and practice in the 1980s through an analysis of three case studies: 1) The "paper architecture" works of Russian architects Alexander Brodsky and Ilya Utkin, who created nostalgic, visionary drawings as a form of dissidence within the oppressive political environment of 1980s USSR. 2) The theoretical and graphic works of American architect Charles W. Darden, who explored architecture through literature and mythology. 3
