This document summarizes a study on the adsorption of the cationic dye Crystal Violet (CV) onto zeolites synthesized from coal fly ash and bottom ash. Zeolites were produced from the ashes through an alkaline hydrothermal treatment and were characterized as hydroxy-sodalite and NaX. Batch experiments showed that adsorption equilibrium was reached within 10 minutes and followed pseudo-second order kinetics.
