What is Low noise JFETs for room temperature x-ray detectors about?
We have developed a series of JFETs specifically designed for energy dispersive spectrometer preamplifiers. These have very low channel and generation-recombination noise both at room temperature and at low temperature. We discuss the design of JFETs for low noise, present some results using these with room temperature operation, and discuss further possible improvements.
