About this document

Corrosion Resistance in RCC Structures by RAJESHWARRAO BANDARI is a document available to read on EtoBox.

There are three stages of corrosion with rusting of reinforcement in concrete: (1) initiation, (2) propagation, and (3) concrete cracking. In initiation, aggressive elements like chlorides and carbon dioxide penetrate the concrete. Propagation begins when these elements reach high concentrations near the reinforcement, causing rust growth that can crack the concrete cover. Conlife forms a protective layer on the steel rebar surface to prevent corrosion from moisture and ions like chlorides.
