This review discusses the role of the PTEN gene in genetic alterations associated with endometrioid carcinoma, the most common type of endometrial cancer. PTEN mutations significantly disrupt cell growth regulation and are frequently observed in endometrial tumors, particularly those arising from premalignant lesions. Understanding these genetic changes may enhance early detection and lead to targeted therapeutic strategies for endometrioid carcinoma.
