This study investigates the relationship between iron deficiency anemia (IDA) and acute lower respiratory tract infections (ALRTI) in children aged 6 months to 5 years in Nepal. Out of 82 cases of ALRTI, 34 were found to be IDA positive, with pneumonia being the predominant diagnosis. The findings suggest that iron supplementation may reduce the incidence of morbidity and mortality associated with ALRTI in this population.
