About this document
Rayleigh-Taylor Instability in Swirling Flows by Rebecca Clark is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This document discusses the Rayleigh-Taylor instability in variable density swirling flows. Using linear instability theory and nonlinear dynamics simulations, it is found that the instability and flow topology can be predicted by a function χ that depends on density and axial and azimuthal velocities. Even when the inner flow is heavier, favoring Rayleigh-Taylor instability, the instability may not be Rayleigh-Taylor dominated. When the Rayleigh-Taylor instability develops, it takes a helical form.
