About this document

Overview of OS/2 Operating System by 14-Shruti Chavan-CST is a document available to read on EtoBox.

OS/2 was a joint operating system developed by IBM and Microsoft as an alternative to Microsoft Windows. It provided backwards compatibility with DOS applications while offering more advanced features like multitasking and a graphical user interface. While initially successful, OS/2 lost market share to Windows and was eventually discontinued. It had strengths in areas like reliability, security and backwards compatibility but failed to gain widespread adoption among personal computer users.
