What is Giant Resistive Switching and Lattice Modulation at Full Temperature Range in a Sr‐Doped Nickelate Oxide Transistor about?

Recent discovery of superconductivity in infinite-layer Nd 0.8 Sr 0.2 NiO 2 films which is obtained by topotatically reducing Nd 0.8 Sr 0.2 NiO 3 (NSNO) marks a new era of nickel-based superconductivity, shedding light again on nickelates. To remove or implant ions, such as oxygen and hydrogen, thereby is a very powerful strategy to realize emergent phenomena and new matter of states. Introduction of hydrogen (proton) into SmNiO 3 (SNO) can drive e g orbital from the electron-itinerant Ni 3+ state into the electron-localized Ni 2+ state with a simultaneous dramatic increase in resistivity by several orders of magnitude. Under a positive electric field, the ionic liquid gating leads to a lattice expansion by 0.17% and three orders of magnitude increase in sheet resistance of the NdNiO 3 (NNO) film. The metalinsulator transition temperature (T MIT ) of the NNO film can be reduced under a negative electric field. For parent nondoped perovskite RNiO 3 compound, it usually exhibits a phase transition from metal to insulator with decreasing temperature. This is one hand though affords a critical mechanism to generate field-driven resistance switching, but in another hand will suppress th
