What is Digital Arrest Images Review Findings about?

On September 1, 2022, the Cottage Grove Police Department received calls about an individual waving a sword in public. Alexander Harrelson was arrested but a complaint was filed alleging excessive force during the arrest. An investigation found the force used was reasonable and justified. While the FBI also found no criminal wrongdoing, the police department will implement body cameras, improve use of force training, and strengthen its review process of use of force incidents.
