An introductory section provides information on the Institute of International Education (IIE), IIE publications, the use of the guide, planning study abroad, additional resources, and how to read study-abroad literature. The bulk of the guide consists of individual program descriptions, arranged geographically by region and country. Each listing provides information on program sponsor and name, site, dates, subjects offered, eligibility requirements, academic credit offered, costs, housing, application deadline, other information, and contact point. Approximately 75 percent of the programs listed are sponsored by U.S. accredited colleges and universities. An appendix contains statistics on study abroad.
