About this document

Valentinus: Gnostic Insights and Legacy by Wilson Llusala-Aquino Cendana-Manzon Junior is a document available to read on EtoBox.

Valentinus was a prominent 2nd century Gnostic teacher in Rome who almost became Pope. His teachings provided comfort to the scholar Gilles Quispel during World War II. Valentinus claimed his teachings came from an apostolic disciple of Jesus. His vision sought to reconcile Gnosticism with mainstream Christianity. He viewed the cosmos as inherently flawed due to ignorance, rather than human sin, and taught that gnosis (self-knowledge) could remedy this defect by transforming human consciousness.
