JM Barrie was a Scottish novelist and playwright best known as the creator of Peter Pan. He was born in 1860 in Scotland and lost his brother at a young age, which inspired his writing. His most famous work, Peter Pan, first appeared as a character in 1902 and was adapted into a play and novel. Throughout his life, Barrie was friends with many famous authors and supported the family of boys that inspired Peter Pan after their parents died. He received a baronetcy in 1913 and died in 1937, leaving his estate
