What is Validating Dates in RPGLE about?

This blog post discusses two approaches for displaying and validating dates in RPGLE/RPG IV: 1) Using a date field in the display file definition, and 2) Using a numeric field with date formatting and validation rules. It provides an example program that defines two date fields, one as a date type and one as a numeric with date formatting. The program validates the second date field using the TEST operation code and conditions an error message if invalid.
