This qualitative research investigates the academic reading and writing challenges faced by international EFL master’s students in a Malaysian university from the perspective of lecturers. Findings indicate that students struggle with academic writing conventions, text interpretation, and language proficiency, which hinder their academic success. The study suggests implementing policies and programs to address these challenges and improve the academic experiences of international students.
