What is Sugarcane Micropropagation: Subculturing Effects about?

The study investigated the effect of subculturing period on shoot multiplication rate in sugarcane micropropagation. Shoots of sugarcane variety CoSe 01235 were subcultured at intervals of 5, 10, 15 and 20 days over 60 days. The highest number of shoots (1744) was produced with a 15 day subculturing interval. Subculturing at 15 and 20 days also resulted in longer average shoot lengths compared to other treatments. A 15 day subculturing interval provided the optimal period for enhancing shoot multiplication
