In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and in line with the National Education Policy 2020, NCERT is rationalising textbook content to reduce the load on students. The rationalisation considers overlapping content, difficulty levels, and relevance, resulting in the removal of specific chapters from the Science curriculum. A table lists the chapters that have been dropped and will not be assessed.
