This volume is a product of the Heidelberg conference in July 2003, "Judah and the Judeans in the Achaemenid Period." Many of the leading authorities on the period are represented. There is an index of authors, an index of scripture, and an index of sites and place-names. As usual, Eisenbrauns has published a good-quality volume. I found no more than a few stray typos. In the short review allowed here, I have space only to list the authors and their contributions, with a few additional comments on a small handful of the essays. The essays are collected into two groups.
