What is Deep Learning for Particle Analysis about?

This paper presents a deep learning approach to automate particle size analysis from TEM images of catalyst layers for fuel cells. The approach uses a U-Net model trained on a dataset of 40 annotated TEM images to perform nanoparticle segmentation. The segmentation results agree well with manual measurements and outperform other reported models, allowing particle size analysis to be done at lower cost.
