This article discusses a case study on composting practices for sustainable waste management in Istanbul, Turkey. The study implemented two compost tumbler systems to reduce organic waste and provide soil amendment, evaluating the quality of the final composts against national regulations. Results showed that heavy metal concentrations were below regulatory limits, and the C/N ratios indicated that a mixture of kitchen and yard waste composts would be suitable for soil application.
