What is Take This Job and Love It : How to Find Fulfillment in Any Job You Do about?

Clattering dishes, greasy flies, bawling babies -- hardly the stuff of angelic choirs. Add to that the million other irritations that characterize our various work lives -- rude customers, cranky bosses, deadline pressures -- and we see a world that only a saint could get through unscathed.Yet in each instance, every one of us has a chance to add to the sum total of goodness in the world in the way we conduct ourselves and in the level of sensitivity and heart that we bring to our contact with those around us. Often overlooked is the fact that serving others can be the sacred ground on which to begin manifesting those qualities of character -- love, patience, mindfulness, humility, strength -- that define a spiritual life. This remarkable book is a celebration of that spirit and an invitation for anyone who has ever found work meaningless, or life unfulfilling, to discover in even the simplest and humblest acts the potential for transforming your daily routines into blessed moments.
