About this document
Sodium Carbonate Production via Solvay Process by angiejara is a document available to read on EtoBox.
The Solvay process produces sodium carbonate from salt, limestone, and coke in a two-cycle reaction. Salt water and carbon dioxide produce sodium hydrogencarbonate precipitate in tall towers. This is filtered and heated to produce light sodium carbonate. It is also made into a slurry and re-heated to form granular heavy sodium carbonate. The main products are light and heavy sodium carbonate, with calcium chloride as the main byproduct.
