The study evaluated the performance of the Abbott CELL-DYN Ruby hematology analyzer for routine use compared to the Abbott CELL-DYN Sapphire. Precision was good for routine blood cell count parameters except platelet count at low levels and reticulocyte percentage at low levels. Results from the CELL-DYN Ruby showed good correlation with the CELL-DYN Sapphire. Precision was also generally good for white blood cell differentials except for basophils.
